YouTube Originals docuseries 'Defying Gravity' wins PGA Award for outstanding sports program
The Producers Guild of America’s 32nd annual PGA Awards ceremony is getting underway tonight, one of the bellwethers of the Oscar season. 'While Black' Nominated for Best Short Form Series at Critics' Choice Awards

As founder & president of Main Event Media, a production company within the All3Media global family, Fox is the executive producer and co-creator of CNN’s Emmy-winning series United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell. He has worked with the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bear Grylls, Martin Sheen, Sofia Vergara, Dog the Bounty Hunter, and the “Mob Wives” among other celebrities.

The Montreal festival will be the subject of a six-part docuseries for Amazon from producer Jimmy Fox and director Neil Berkeley (Harmontown). Described as "Hard Knocks for standup comedy," the untitled series will follow up-and-coming comedians in New York and Los Angeles as they compete for the New Faces showcase, the segment of the fest that has given way to major comedic talent, including Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Kumail Nanjiani and Jimmy Fallon.

Emmy-nominated producer Jimmy Fox (United Shades of America), EVP of Objective Media Group America, has launched his own company, Main Street Media. The new outfit, which will produce both scripted and unscripted fare, will be based in Los Angeles and will sit under the All3Media America banner as part of All3Media’s Objective Media Group, where Fox has spent the last three years running the group’s U.S. operations. Main Event be All3Media America’s 21st production company, joining the likes of Sam Mendes’ Neal Street Productions, Studio Ramsay and Studio Lambert Associates.

United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell is returning for a second season. Eight one-hour episodes have been ordered, to debut next spring. In its first season, the series was nominated for an Emmy Award.

Based on the popular Japanese game show format “Sokkuri Sweets,” the series features teams of celebrities and civilians attempting to identify edible creations designed to look like everyday, ordinary objects. The objective is to distinguish the edible creations from the not-so-edible objects; the real from the cake. Once the contestants make their choice, they must take take a bite so see if they’re right.
Set in the North Pole, talented kid ‘elf-testants’ are paired with Santa’s elves in a series of physical challenges as they compete for the title of Top Elf and a wishlist of prizes for their community. Series is hosted by Santa with visiting celebrity guests as judges.
